In the Shadow of the Colossus
The Republic of Tarascon is governed by a Senate of eight citizens, usually but not always prominent Family patriarchs. The first five of the Senate Seats are reserved for the most powerful Families; those with the most land and influence in the Republic. The remaining three seats are “wild” seats, chosen by election. Each true Family gets to vote to elect one person, and cannot vote for themselves or anyone from their Family.
Each year, the Senate votes to elect a Chairman, who runs the Senate proceedings and gets two votes for the purposes of any decisions the Senate makes.
